Roof over the head, food in the belly - o.k. so I have half a brain and maybe I would like to sustain these needs completely - with a little help from some friends who don't think that's such a bad idea.
And let me quickly throw some more ideas into the mix while I'm at it -
Property:
How?
Where/Who? (environmnent/community)
Food:
Permaculture.
Supporting local producers (transactions/exchange)
designing collective economies
Energy, Sustainablility:
Eco-design, biotech
Economy, Community:
space for artistic/creative productivity and play, enterprise, etc.
sharing and development of required/desired skills, ideas, etc.
capacity for outward social, environmental and economic relationships.
...?
I would rather refine and develop these ideas through practical experimentation, with the group giving input and sharing ideas, but with the aim of finding ideas that will always provide us with a practical next step - as well as a 'when' and a 'how'.
About co-operation:
I think squatting has taught me one thing - it's about much more than occupying a building. It's about the group, the house members, that interact within that space. In this scene, buildings come and go, but it's the people you choose to move on with or break up with that will determine your ability to create the life and environment you wish for.
In between moving on and breaking up there is a lot to learn, a lot to decide, and a lot to do. Every new step reveals the potential of the relationships between members.
This project needs a number of people (who's involved? who do we need?) And it will take a few steps to see IF we're working together, HOW we're working together who's doing what... Adapt adapt...
So, how do we think about the next step?

step one - build a co-op.
the co-op can then take care of finding property, working out finances, planning and buiding a housing co-op.
this does mean that we will look for people who want to cooperate in bussiness as well as living together.
double-edge-profile mavericks...
if we can build an
amphibious gardenturtle
that we can live in
(it sails and walks...
and we move it around
and park in cool places,
growing things, building things,
making friends, having festivities and feasts together...
